Message it is a *fairly* reliable car as long a previous owner(s) took good care of it. If properly maintained it is as reliable car as you can get in its class. the older and higher mileage TT's will of course be more expensive to maintain as parts wear out. Having owned both a 911 and a 928 I can say that the TT ( 90, 3rd owner, 61k miles)has cost me more to maintain than either w/just general parts failing, none performance related:
battery, alternator,starter, powersteering hose, climate control pod, speedometer,clutch master/slave/booster, waterpump, fan clutch, 3 coil packs, wiring harnesses ( due to intermittents and corrosion ), detonation sensor, water temp sensor,HICAS,..probably a few things I am forgetting.
